Vietnam Veterans of America

Pinellas County Chapter 522

“Five Double Deuce”

“Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”

Welcome Home

Early in 2007 VVA Chapter 522 long time member and officer, Dwight Harrah, died from a motorcycle accident on the Howard Franklin Bridge that connects Tampa with St. Petersburg, Florida. Dwight served as the chapter’s treasurer and he was the point man for setting up our first website. From 2007 to 2011, Chapter 522 awarded annual scholarships to high school seniors who were going to continue their education by attending college. The scholarships were $1,000 each for all years except the first year when we issued a $1,000 and a $500 scholarship. A total of 12 scholarship awards were made during this period of time. Shown below are pictures of all the students who were selected to receive scholarships.  Shown below are pictures of the students selected each year.
